Menno van Meurs is Co-Founder of Red Wing Shoes Amsterdam and Tenue de Nîmes, the brand behind the denim and high fashion stores from Amsterdam. Although trained as a marketer, he decided to listen to his heart and combine his passions of several years: retail and denim. By successfully applying age-old retail laws to their 21st century venture, as well as launching and instituting an active marketing and new media approach, Tenue de Nimes has rapidly gained a worldwide following that continues to grow. This evolution did not go unnoticed: in 2011 Tenue de Nîmes was awarded the prestigious 2011 Retail Innovation Award for its remarkable achievements.
Since the Tenue de Nîmes doors first opened to the public, the shops have evolved into stores where they sell exclusive brands and products from all over the world that they like to describe as ‘The Good Things in Life’. Based on their experience in retail and after gathering consumer feedback for many years, Menno and his partners decided it was time to build a clothing brand that shows a pure love for high quality products and will stay relevant over time. The co-founders developed their vision of what the brand should represent thanks to the many countries they had visited and the inspiring people they had met along the way. The result is a brand, rooted in quality, transparency and sustainability, which contains pieces that they hope, will prove to be timeless and thereby become the new wardrobe staples.
